This year, our theme was "Winter Celebrations".  Each campus dressed up using the current theme and a picture was taken for the poster contest.  Each poster was displayed at the party.  We had everything from Mardi Gras, Christmas, Winter, New Years Eve and more.  The CNS office staff selects a winner for High School, Middle School and this year for 2 Elementary Schools. Here are the 2013 Winners.

The 2013 Step-a-Thon was a HUGE success!

Step

The Humble Child Nutrition Department’s annual Step-a-Thon was a HUGE success. A BIG thank you to all of you who participated this year!

We made a profit of $5,400 allowing us to donate $1,300 to The Educational Foundation Fund, purchase 936 pairs of underwear to “Operation Underwear” for Humble ISD nurses and the remainder was donated to the Humble Child Nutrition Association for further education.

There were 18 teams total for the district.  363 signed up originally but 335 stayed in the race until the end. We all walked a combined total of 92,139,049 steps (approximately 23,000,000 steps per week) and a combined average total of 5,410,207 steps!

First place (and the trophy) for the highest total steps goes to Maplebrook Elementary with a 4 week total of 14,718,676 steps taken and 47 team members.

First place (and the trophy) for the highest average steps taken goes to Deerwood Elementary with a 4 week total average of 574,842 steps taken with 1 team member.

These trophies remain on display at each winning school for one year.

Congratulations and many thanks to both schools for a “steppin” job well done!
