Letter from the Principal: April 10, 2017
Good Afternoon Creekwood Families and Friends,
I have received a few questions regarding the presence of police vehicles on our campus Friday afternoon, and therefore want to provide everyone with factual information about what actually took place.
Shortly after 2 p.m., a man drove on campus and went to visit our Veterans Honor Garden. At some point he walked over to one of our hallway doors, as students were coming in and out, and entered the campus to walk down hallways. A teacher immediately saw him and escorted him to the Front Office, where he was told that he needed to have business with the school in order to be inside. He went outside.
The man did not say anything that alarmed anyone and did not act in an inappropriate manner. Ms. Overaker, Mr. Webster and I went outside to the Honor Garden to make sure he understood why he was asked to leave. The man did get a little emotional, but did not do or say anything that was alarming.
Our police officer came over to stay with him while he was in his emotional state. Since the man was upset, our officer decided he needed to be off campus and called for another officer to help with that process. By 3:30 p.m., we had five Humble ISD Police vehicles and one Houston Police car on campus. The Houston police officer told me that the man was upset about his grandfather being in the war. A relative came to pick up the man, and he left campus without incident.
Thank you for your support.
