The University Interscholastic League released its biennial district realignment for 2020-2022 on Monday, Feb. 3.
Atascocita, Humble, Kingwood, and Summer Creek high schools will no longer be in Region III District 22-6A. They will be in District 21-6A along with C.E. King, North Shore and Beaumont West Brook.
Kingwood Park will join Region III District 12-5A in football and will play Crosby, Dayton, Barbers Hill, Nederland, Port Neches-Groves, Santa Fe and Texas City. For most other sports, Kingwood Park will be in Region III District 20-5A with Cleveland, Caney Creek, Dayton, Montgomery, Lake Creek, New Caney and Porter.
The realignments take effect at the beginning of the 2020-2021 school year.
UIL schools are placed in the six different classifications, 1A through 6A, based on enrollment numbers at high schools across Texas. For a complete listing of school and specific realignments, visit the UIL website at www.uiltexas.org.
