Letter from the Principal: June 1, 2020

Dear Quest Community,

Over the last three months, I am thankful for our learning community’s resilience, flexibility and grace shown during this unprecedented time of change in our schools. An inspiring quote is “The secret to change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” As we begin to think about the 2020-2021 school year, I am excited to share some updates about the new changes for our learning community.

We will begin the 2020-2021 school year in our new building which is located at 9155 Will Clayton Parkway. This is monumental! Since its inception in 1995, Quest utilized borrowed spaces from the Community Learning Center, Summer Creek High School, Lone Star College - Atascocita, and Humble High School. This is the first time in the history of Quest that we have our very own building to call home!

This coming year, some classes will be held in the building. Other classrooms will be located in nearby portable buildings with covered walkways, but this is not a permanent solution. We are in the process of designing, building and renovating our new home to create a college-like atmosphere with a focus on collaborative, flexible, and  innovative spaces. Some of the projects we are excited about include:

  • A new addition to the existing building
    • New classrooms with flexible and collaborative options
    • Outdoor learning spaces, including a Socratic Seminar area
    • Flexible and collaborative learning spaces throughout the campus
  • Renovations include:
    • Conversion of existing CTE classrooms to science labs
    • Adding a new space for students to gather with flexible seating and recreational items such as games, air hockey and ping pong

Construction will begin this summer and continue throughout the 2020-2021 school year. During this time of renovation, our focus will be to maintain our college-like culture and Quest Family atmosphere.

This is an exciting time for our Quest Family and we are thankful for the support of our community. I wish everyone a safe and happy summer!

Sincerely,

Nachelle Scott
