Thousands of lively fans cheered as NBA player Carsen Edwards made a surprise visit to Atascocita High School for a pep rally held Friday, Sept. 13, 2019. The school honored Edwards by retiring his #3 jersey during a ceremony inside the school’s gym.

Edwards wore the jersey when he played for the Eagles.  He was drafted in June to the Boston Celtics after playing college basketball for the Purdue Boilermakers, where he was twice named an All-American and helped lead the team to the Elite Eight.

Edwards attended Atascocita High School, Atascocita Middle School, and Oak Forest Elementary, all in Humble ISD.
