On August 3, the Humble ISD Health Services Department hosted their first district and community-wide health fair at Humble High School. Approximately 700 community members of all ages attended the event. Immunizations were given out, vision screens were performed, blood sugars and blood pressures were checked, and dental care materials were handed out. Additionally, there were over 70 vendors offering many educational materials on lice, fire safety, poison control, ADHD, nutrition, cancer, mental health and more. "Community awareness is an integral part of the School Health Services," said Susan Leuthold, Humble ISD's Director of Health Services. "The health fair was an effort to increase the awareness of the many services available."
Participants were also able to pet snakes, learn about the life stages of mosquitos, and enjoy shaved ice and lunch from food trucks.
