KHS varsity baseball player selected for special MLB league
Kingwood High School junior and Varsity baseball player, Masyn Winn, was recently recognized for being one of the best high school baseball players in the country. He recently accepted an invitation from Major League Baseball (MLB) and USA Baseball to compete in the inaugural Prospect Development Pipeline League (PDP), this summer. Winn is one of 80 rising high school seniors who will train at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
The Prospect Development Pipeline League will include training sessions, games, and one-on-one work with representatives from each of the MLB clubs. Each team will be represented by MLB stars, Ryan Howard, Derek Jeter, and Baseball Hall-of-Famers, Chipper Jones and Barry Larkin. The program is a collaborative effort between MLB and USA Baseball to establish an official identification and player development pathway for amateur baseball players.
Through his participation in the PDP, Winn will have the opportunity to play in a high school All-Star game in Cleveland, Ohio during the MLB All-Star Break. He is also a candidate to represent his country on the USA Baseball 18 and up National Team later this year.
At the end of the presentation, Winn was given a PDP League jersey and he was joined by his family and his teammates on stage.
