Winners of the Humble ISD Spelling Bee were honored at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on April 9. Pictured from left are School Board President Charles Cunningham, Elementary ELA Coordinator Netta Whittaker, Greentree Elementary School fifth grader Advika Rapolu, Creekwood Middle School seventh grader Ian Robertson, and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen.

Ian Robertson was named district Spelling Bee Champion for the third consecutive year at the annual Humble ISD Spelling Bee. Advika Rapolu is the 2019 Humble ISD Spelling Bee Runner Up.

Each year Humble ISD hosts a spelling bee for Grades 3-8. Students first participate at a campus level bee, and winners move on to the district level competition. Spelling is only a portion of what these students study. They also learn words’ origins, parts of speech and definitions.
