Super Staffers April9

Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on April 9. This month’s Super Staffer Awards is sponsored by United Community Credit Union.  Pictured from left are School Board President Charles Cunningham, Sponsors Latonia Thompson and Jaqui Cook from United Community Credit Union, Maintenance Department HVAC Tech Cipriano Guerra, Pine Forest Elementary Special Ed Interventionist Jocelyn Gregory, Kingwood Middle School History Teacher Kelly Wells, and Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Jocelyn Gregory — Pine Forest Elementary, Special Ed Interventionist
Those who nominated her said, "Jocelyn Gregory is such an asset to our campus. She is willing to help wherever and whenever needed to support our students. She builds relationships based on trust and works individually with kiddos to ensure their happiness and safety.  Jocelyn finds the student's strengths and builds upon them for success academically and socially-emotionally.  Ms. Gregory is a ray of sunshine on our campus."

Kelly Wells — Kingwood Middle School, History Teacher
Those who nominated her said, " Though Mrs. Wells wears many hats, Social Studies teacher, Academic Team Lead, and Cheer Coach, she consistently provides each student in her class with the support that they need for success.  She goes above and beyond each day in making sure that her students understand the content, have the tools that they need to excel, and knows she believes in each and one of them.  She tirelessly advocates and provides support for all of the teachers on her team, acting as a sounding board, fearless leader and cheerleader.    With Mrs. Wells, our students become more than just better students, she helps them become better people, and that alone is pretty special.  Her patience, devotion to her students, and leadership qualities deserve to be celebrated today and every day!"

Cipriano Guerra — Maintenance Department, HVAC Temp Tech
Those who nominated him said, "Cipriano Guerra has been with Humble ISD for 19 years. He started in Grounds and worked hard to advance himself, achieving his goals. Cipriano's current position is an HVAC Temp Tech and is performing the duties of Temp Tech and HVAC Mechanic. He is always here and does whatever is asked of him. Cipriano comes in early and stays late. He is a part of the Emergency Call-Out team. He also gives extra time to the Humble ISD Rodeo. Cipriano is very deserving of this award, due to his commitment and determination to Supporting Learning through Service!"

Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a $100 gift card to Pappas Restaurants thanks to an award sponsor.
