Rodeo Art Winners Honored

Sixteen students were honored as top awardees of The 2019 Humble ISD Rodeo Art Show at the March 12 School Board Meeting.

The Humble Rodeo School Art Show had more than 600 entries from students in grades K-12, including 3D work, paintings, drawings, ceramics, fibers and mixed media. Top awards included Best of Show, Gold Medal, and Special Merit. Artwork was assessed by a panel of four experienced art educators. Judges considered originality, creativity, craftsmanship and western content.

Students received Judges Choice, Blue, Red, and White ribbons. Participating students received tickets to the Friday Humble ISD Rodeo. 10 pieces from the 600 were selected by the Humble Education Foundation Auction Committee to advance to the Gala Auction in April. Students will directly benefit from the auction proceeds of their artwork.

A reception for all contest participants and their families was held at the Charles Bender Performing Arts Center in February.
