Super Staffers sponsored by Humble ISD Education Foundation
Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:
Christina Rivera —Whispering Pines Elementary, Attendance Specialist
Those who nominated her said, "Christina Rivera is one of the hardest working people at Whispering Pines Elementary and is greatly appreciated. The beginning of the year is always so hectic and she maintains her positive attitude through it all. She knows the families by name and is always very supportive of our staff. Christina is always willing to help parents navigate the registration process so they feel welcome to our school! She interacts well with the students and supports our teachers in a dependable, caring and warm-hearted manner."
Laurie Wilson — Kingwood Middle School, RELA Co-Teacher
Those who nominated her said, "Laurie Wilson works with the 7th and 8th grade Reading/Language Arts students and teachers at Kingwood Middle School. In addition to individualized support for students, she implements student centered instruction for both whole group and small group learning. She works tirelessly to make sure our students have all of the necessary tools needed to be successful. Laurie is quick to jump in, provides assistance to her colleagues, and is extremely helpful and patient. Laurie has been instrumental in helping our new 7th grade RELA team adapt to the systems and processes in place at KMS. If she doesn't know the answer to a question, she makes a point to find the answer in a timely manner, and insures the students' needs are met."
Martha Gonzalez — Head Custodian, ISC
Those who nominated her said, "Martha has been amazing as the head custodian at the ISC for years. However, her determination to go above and beyond for the team and the district this past year during Harvey was truly evident. She was very helpful in getting the ISC back up and running. She is truly a team member who takes pride in ensuring that everything at the ISC is perfect for all of the employees who work there and for all of the visitors to the building. She is always looking for new ways to make the ISC a fabulous facility. We are honored to have Martha on our team!"
