Car Riders

Kinder Side Car Rider (Kinder students  DO NOT have to be dropped off on this side)

Please use the YELLOW campus car rider sign provided by MBE by either hanging it from your rearview mirror or clearly displaying it on your front window. Please use a thick, black marker for writing and make your child’s name and grade as large as possible for our staff to read.

  • Arrival: We are encouraging parents to choose the neighborhood path that suits you to drop off your students on Cafeteria Car Rider side since traffic flow is much lighter on that side of the building.  Please remember when dropping your students off in the morning on the Kinder car rider side, there is no left turn in from Farmingham Rd.  That entrance is a right turn only entrance. Also, thank you for utilizing the blacktop pavement on the ditch line to allow for traffic flow to continue to run on Farmingham during arrival.  We will be closing Kinder Side Car Rider entrance in the mornings at 7:55 because that is when our school day begins and instruction starts.  If you arrive after the entrance has been closed, you will need to drop your student off in the front of the building to enter through the front office.  Please remember students will be counted tardy beginning at 8:00am. Please make all necessary arrangements to have your child here on time.
  • Dismissal:  Our Kinder Side Car Rider dismissal time will begin at 3:25pm.  Please remember when picking up your students in the afternoon on the Kinder car rider side, there is no left turn in from Farmingham Rd.  That entrance is a right turn only entrance. Also, thank you for utilizing the blacktop pavement on the ditch line to allow for traffic flow to continue to run on Farmingham during dismissal. Please do not park your car and walk up to retrieve your child from the car rider line. They will only be released to you inside of your car during car rider dismissal.

Cafeteria Car Rider

Please use the YELLOW campus car rider sign provided by MBE by either hanging it from your rearview mirror or clearly displaying it on your front window. Please use a thick, black marker for writing and make the letters as large as possible for our staff to read.

  • Arrival:  Please help our flow on the Cafeteria Car Rider side by following the same traffic flow following the arrows that we use in the afternoons.  “Snake-ing” through the parking lot is necessary because it allows for a maximum number of cars to fit in our largest arrival and dismissal area. Parents are asked to please follow the path that is usually defined by cones/arrows and to honor that path even if cones are not in place before or/at 7:30 AM.
  • We are asking that our Pre-K parents drop their students off on this side of the building to begin their day having breakfast in the cafeteria.  We are hoping this will alleviate some of the heavy traffic on the Kinder Side Car Rider.  We will have staff members on duty beginning at 7:30 to help receive children. Our school day begins at 7:55am and after this time the doors will be closed and students will need to be dropped off in the front of the building to enter through the front office.  Also, students will be tardy beginning at 8:00am so please make all necessary arrangements to be here on time.
  • Dismissal:  Our Cafeteria Car Rider dismissal time will begin at 3:28pm.  Please follow the arrows through the parking lot to pick up your child at the designated location. Remember at dismissal there is no right turn in from Farmingham Rd. That entrance is a left turn only entrance.  Also, thank you for utilizing the blacktop pavement on the ditch line to allow for traffic flow to continue to run on Farmingham during dismissal.  Please do not park your car and walk up to retrieve your child from the car rider line. They will only be released to you inside of your car during car rider dismissal.
  • Drivers should follow the directions of the duty teachers and ALWAYS pull up as far as they can so that approximately 5 cars can be unloaded at a time.  If everybody follows this rule, arrival will be quick and smooth.
  • Student safety is of the UTMOST importance. All students must be dropped off in the designated area where teachers can help ensure safety, not any place that is simply more convenient for parents. Failure to do this is unsafe for students and slows down the arrival process in general.
  • Children should be ready to exit the car which means doors are unlocked, backpacks, water bottles, lunch kits should be on their backs, in their hands, or right next to them so that they are readily accessible. The only additional thing they should have to do when arriving at the drop off spot is unbuckle their seat belt.
  • Drivers should never assume it is okay to “go around” a car to exit, even if it looks clear.  Always wait for the car in front to move or for directions from an adult/teacher before getting out of line in the arrival area.
  • Drivers must be conscious of speed at all times! Children are everywhere!
