Emergency School Closing
Occasionally weather conditions make it necessary to close the Humble Schools for one or more days. Should weather conditions exist that would make travel to and from school hazardous to our students and teachers, a decision would be made to close the schools. One of the central staff would make this decision and then pass this information on to some parts of the news media by 5:30 am.
ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE FOR TV CHANNELS 2, 11, AND 13 AND RADIO STATIONS KGOL 1180 AM, KIKK 96 FM/65 AM, KTRH 740 AM, KKBQ 790 AM/93 FM, AND KILT 100 FM/610 AM TO CARRY THIS INFORMATION TO THE PEOPLE IN THE HUMBLE AREA.
If you have a question about the Humble Schools being open on any given day you should listen to one of the stations listed above. Please do not call school officials or those stations listed above.
In case of flooding, storms, or other emergency conditions that occur during the school day, the following procedures will be observed:
Parents may call 281-641-1000 and access the electronic voice mail message that will be listed in times of emergency conditions. This message will provide general information about the status of schools specific to the current conditions, including whether or not schools will close early. In general, schools will not close early. Parents wishing to pick up their students early may come to the school and do so.
