Kevin Mitchell, CEO of ShowBiz Cinemas and Derrick Stenson, Kickstart Kids Regional Manager were recognized by Woodcreek Middle School for their donation and sponsorship of the Woodcreek Middle Kickstart Kids program at the June School Board meeting. Kickstart Kids is a non-profit organization founded by Chuck and Gena Norris that gives middle school students the opportunity to use martial arts as a tool for a more positive life. The program is offered to students at Woodcreek Middle as a physical education credit and elective.
“My son had never taken karate before and now he loves it,” Eric Collazo, Woodcreek Middle School parent, said. “He’s not only learning the sport but he is learning values such as discipline and respect.”
Woodcreek Middle School seventh-graders, Lorenzo Collazo and Andrea Ramirez, presented the plaques of appreciation to the ShowBiz Cinemas and Kickstart Kids representatives.
