Culinary Arts and Hospitality Services students medal at HEAT competition
Students in Humble ISD’s Culinary Arts and Hospitality Services programs participated in a competition hosted by HEAT, the Hospitality Educators Association of Texas. Humble ISD students won a combined total of 33 medals and competed with students from across Southeast Texas. “We compete to showcase the skills we have been learning and practicing,” said Risa McCann, Hospitality Services Teacher at the Humble ISD CATE Center. “Marriott hotel staff participates each year as judges for the events. For our students, this is always a fun day of competition and meeting other students in the same programs from different schools.” The competition was held in March at the M.O. Campbell Educational Center in Houston.
