FCE celebrates raising over $26,000 for the American Heart Association
Fall Creek Elementary celebrated surpassing their original fundraising goal by soaking their P.E. coaches and American Heart Association representatives with slime! Fall Creek students raised over $26,000 during their annual Jump Rope For Heart event.
Jump Rope For Heart is a fun way for students to stay active, learn how their heart works, and raise money to help other kids with special hearts. Through Jump Rope For Heart, the American Heart Association has been able to impact many lives.
Fall Creek Elementary P.E. Coordinator Patricia Edmonds, set a goal to raise over $15,000. As an incentive, the coaches agreed that if the students raised $15,000 all three coaches would have to take a slime bath and when the students raised over $20,000, Amy Newman and Samantha Fewell-Nunez, Vice Presidents of AHA Youth Market – Houston-Gulf Coast, decided to get in on the fun. The American Heart Association representatives were thrilled that students surpassed both of their Jump Rope for Heart goals. The top 33 fundraisers were able to slime all three coaches, Newman and Powell in front of the whole school.
After raising more than $26,000 for the American Heart Association, the whole school was able to partake in the incentives at the Jump Rope For Heart award assembly. The top fundraising students were also recognized during the assembly.
