Atascocita Middle School named an AVID National Demonstration School
On February 14, Atascocita Middle School (AMS) was named an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) National Demonstration School. This was the culminating celebration of an 18-month coaching and evaluation process. Atascocita is now considered a teaching and learning campus where people from all over the country will come to learn about AVID. AMS was commended for their student-led learning, leadership opportunities for both teachers and students, a campus culture built on relationships, and the many systems that were created to grow the AVID College Readiness System school-wide.
Atascocita Middle School administrators and teachers proudly displayed their newly earned banner at the Board of Trustees meeting.
