Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on February 13. Thanks to The Humble ISD Education Foundation  for sponsoring this month's Super Staffers. Pictured from left are Education Foundation Board Chair Jen Sitton, Career And Technical Education Center Secretary Cheryl Jones, Jack Fields Elementary First Grade Bilingual Teacher Nancy Torres, Woodcreek Middle School Guidance Counselor Karla Corpus, Superintendent Dr. Elizabeth Fagen and School Board Vice President Angela Conrad.

Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Nancy Torres, Jack Fields Elementary 1st Grade Bilingual Teacher

Nancy Torres knows the true meaning of teaching to all modalities. She consistently brings curriculum to life in such a way that students are excited about learning.  Many times, upon entering her room, you will hear her singing and playing the guitar, to build classroom culture and of course, make learning fun. Academic Learning time is considered precious to Nancy, as she utilizes every possible minute, to reinforce learning objectives.   Nancy not only brings energy to her classroom but also the entire campus.

Karla Corpus, Woodcreek Middle School Guidance Counselor
Karla Corpus is everything you could ask for in a school guidance counselor.  She unfailingly models the very attributes of a Portrait of a Graduate to our children through her leadership, initiative, and concern for our students.  With an ever present smile, and a sunny disposition, she seeks out opportunities to share her outlook on life and relationships, turning tears into joy wherever she goes.  You'll not find a more "Super Staff Member" anywhere.  Woodcreek Middle School and the Humble ISD community would like to thank Karla Corpus for giving the very best of her time and talent to our students and staff.  Thank you Karla, for all you do!

Cheryl Jones, CATE Secretary

There are many words to describe Cheryl Jones, patient, kind and hard-working are just a few. Whether it’s processing hundreds of purchase orders for the CTE Department or facilitating the Humble ISD annual livestock show, Cheryl goes above and beyond to serve our students and faculty. Humble ISD CTE is extremely fortunate to have Cheryl Jones within the family.

Campus Super Staffers:

Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a $100 gift card to Pappas Restaurants thanks to an award sponsor. The sponsor for the Super Staffer Awards this month is Humble ISD Education Foundation.
