2018-2020 UIL Athletics Realignment
The University Interscholastic League released its biennial district realignment on Thursday, Feb. 1. The 2018-2020 alignment for Humble ISD high school athletic programs for basketball, football, and volleyball are listed below.
All of the district high schools, with the exception of Kingwood Park High School, will be paired with Pasadena ISD schools in Region 3 District 22-6A for basketball, football, and volleyball. After an eight-year absence, Humble High School is moving back to the 6A level due to increased enrollment. Humble will join the other 6A district high schools to compete against Dobie, Pasadena, Pasadena Memorial, Rayburn, and South Houston high schools.
Kingwood Park High School football will move into Region 3 9-5A. Kingwood Park joins Galena Park, Goose Creek Memorial, New Caney, Porter, Port Arthur Memorial as well as Houston ISD schools Wisdom and Austin. Kingwood Park basketball and volleyball will compete in Region 3 20-5A, which includes Caney Creek, Huntsville, Montgomery, Lake Creek, New Caney, Porter, Tomball, and Willis.
Humble ISD Athletic Director, Troy Kite, was pleased with the announcement released today, “The realignment allows parents and families to stay close to home while traveling to watch their children compete," Kite said. "All of our schools remained in Region 3 which is closer to home for events during the playoff process." The last time Humble ISD was paired with Pasadena ISD was 18 years ago, which was also Kite's first year coaching at Humble High School. For more information please visit uiltexas.org.
