Humble ISD Energy Manager elected to serve as Gulf Coast TEMA President
Melissa Crizer, Humble ISD Energy Manager, will serve as President of the Gulf Coast Chapter of Texas Energy Managers Association (TEMA). Crizer will begin her term as TEMA President in January. The Gulf Coast TEMA chapter serves over 150 members in the Gulf Coast region. The organization provides an opportunity for energy managers to network, learn from others in the field, and an opportunity to share policies, strategies and solutions.
Crizer has been an active member of TEMA for the last two years. She has participated in several statewide events and represented her chapter at several State Board meetings. Crizer continues to expand her knowledge of the Energy Management profession by pursuing her Masters Texas Energy Manager (MTEM) certification and acquiring her Accredited Texas Energy Manager (ATEM) certification in 2016. She is known throughout the state as someone who is passionate about the advancement of the Energy Management profession.
“Melissa is an advocate for TEMA and continues to share her excitement through spreading the word about the organization to others in the Energy Management field,” Cami Brumley, TEMA Executive Director said. “We know that Melissa will be a wonderful leader for the Gulf Coast Chapter and that she will not only continue the amazing work of the chapter’s past presidents, but she will make the chapter even better.”
Crizer’s career in education spans 18 years. She taught both middle and high school science and was an Assistant Principal before becoming the district Energy Manager. The Texas Energy Managers Association is a professional association for those responsible for energy management in Texas public entities. The Gulf Coast TEMA Chapter includes Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty and Waller counties. Learn more at www.texasema.org.
