PLE uses WATCH D.O.G.S. program to recruit volunteers

Park Lakes Elementary kicked off their fall WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) recruitment with a Pizza Night.  Over 90 dads and 112 students attended the event. WATCH D.O.G.S. is a family and community engagement educational initiative. One of the main goals of the program is to provide students with positive male role models in an education environment. To participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. program individuals must be a father or father figure of a Park Lakes Elementary student.

Each year the campus puts out a call to fathers to volunteer for tasks around the school, providing additional help to teachers and staff. Tasks include helping with morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up, making copies, and helping out with cafeteria duty.  Several Park Lakes students shared their thoughts on their favorite WATCH D.O.G.S. in a recent recruitment video.

The Park Lakes Elementary fathers and students will gather again for their winter event, Donuts with Dad. If you are interested in volunteering with WATCH D.O.G.S. at Park Lakes Elementary please contact Deyna Herrera at
