Ross Sterling Middle celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month Sept. 15 through Oct. 15. National Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the history, culture, and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.
The month-long celebration included, Vaquero/Heritage Dress Day, Piñata Day, Dancing with the Stars/Bailando con las estrellas, and Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead). Each week the students learned about famous Latin Americans through class projects and activities.
The month-long celebration ended in Fiesta Night, where students and parents were invited to learn about different Latin American countries. Booths lined the halls of Ross Sterling with information about different Latin American countries, cultures, and food.
