Hundreds of elementary students demonstrated their creative thinking and scientific skills at the 2016 Humble ISD Elementary Science-Engineering Fair on April 9 at Atascocita High School. The Science Fair is an all-day event at which children present their science experiments to volunteer judges. The main sponsor for the Elementary Science Fair is Humble Intercontinental Rotary. In addition to project winners, a contestant was chosen by random drawing for their school to receive a science field trip.

The goal of the Humble ISD Elementary Science-Engineering Fair is to provide an opportunity for students to enjoy more exposure to science. Participation in Science Fair provides hands-on exposure to science, presents science as fun, reinforces the scientific process students are learning in class, provides opportunities for those students who are science enthusiasts, recognizes those students who excel in science, prepares students for participating in the Science-Engineering Fair of Houston (7th grade and up), and teaches students to work through problems methodically and to follow a process.
