Humble High School teacher Brandy Rood named District Teacher of the Year, wins Mustang

District Teachers of the Year 2016-2017


Humble High School theater arts teacher Brandy Rood was announced as District Teacher of the Year at the Humble ISD Education Foundation Totally 80s Gala on April 1. She won a new Ford Mustang. This was the fourth consecutive year that Randall Reed and Planet Ford have donated a new vehicle to the Humble ISD District Teacher of the Year
Pine Forest Elementary School fifth grade teacher Jennifer Howard was the runner-up and received a getaway trip to a home in the Florida Keys and a roundtrip flight donated by Kathleen Monahan and United Airlines.
Both will represent Humble ISD in the Region 4 Teacher of the Year Program.


All 10 District Finalists were honored on stage at the Gala and walked away with a new iPad, donated by Jonathan and Carrie Brinsden, and an iPad cover, donated by LogoStuff.

In the spring semester, each Humble ISD school chooses a Teacher of the Year for its campus. The Ten Finalists and District Teachers of the Year were chosen by a committee based upon essays and interviews in March.
