Council of PTAs wins Gold and Silver at State level! This past week, TX PTA
Representative Marilyn Mann announced to Council President Laura Clarke that the
Humble ISD Council of PTAs had won the Texas PTA Gold Award for Outstanding
Councils in the state of Texas. The Humble Council also won the Silver Award for
their achievement in the category of Newsletter, and was one of only three
Councils in the state of Texas to receive a Newsletter award. The Humble Council
also received a Texas PTA Membership Award for the overall increase of the total
number of PTA memberships in Humble ISD.
The TX PTA
Gold Award for Outstanding Councils is an award given based on 13 different
criteria which includes having multiple forms of communication with local PTAs
(email, newsletter, Facebook etc.), providing a parent or family engagement
program in conjunction with the school district, participating in a "Back the
Future" program involving community leaders, assisting and following up on
struggling or inactive PTAs, President or Board member attendance at both Summer
Leadership Seminar and Lone Star weekend, a program or training at every Council
meeting, public recognition of local membership achievements and more. The
Humble ISD Council of PTAs is proud to announce that the Council has won this
award for the second year in a row.
