Dr. Bill Daggett visits Humble ISD schools

Daggett at RSMS-May 2015
Dr. Bill Daggett, chairman of the International Center for Leadership in Education, and Susan Gendron, president of ICLE, visited with faculty at schools in Humble ISD to learn what teaching practices are successful and to help our educators make those practices even more effective and more successful. They also visited a class in progress to see those practices at work.

Dr. Daggett was pleased to learn that Humble ISD had won the coveted H-E-B Excellence in Education award for Large School Districts in Texas.

“Over the last ten years, we’ve been identifying the most rapidly improving schools and their practices, and what we’ve found is that it is much more difficult to bring those successful practices to scale across an entire school district,” said Daggett. “That is what we’re seeing Humble ISD being able to do. I think it is wonderful that you’ve received the H-E-B Excellence Award for Large School Districts for the state of Texas. I believe Humble ISD is also an emerging national model district.”

The International Center for Leadership in Education partners with schools and districts to make best practices and innovative approaches to instruction and leadership a reality in today’s classrooms. Last year, Daggett presented to Humble ISD faculty, administrators and also to community members on the importance of preparing each child for life after graduation in a rapidly changing world.
