David Sitton Field named in special ceremony

 


Humble High School’s Baseball Field was renamed David Sitton Field during a special ceremony on April 24. David Sitton is retiring as Head Baseball Coach. He has been affiliated with Wildcat Baseball as a bat boy, player, or coach for 37 years. His 31-year HHS coaching career includes 18 playoff appearances, more than 530 wins, 17 All-State players, 73 players getting to play college ball, and 17 players who eventually were drafted into Major League Baseball. Humble City Councilman Norman Funderburk, State Rep. Dan Huberty, Kim Brode representing Congressman Ted Poe, and Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo were among those who made special presentations. The ceremony was held prior to the last home game. David Denny, an Humble High graduate and a childhood friend, was the coach of the  team the Wildcats played and also participated in the ceremony.
