SCHS art students participate in the Vans Custom Culture Competition

SCHS Vans Art Work

The Vans Custom Culture is a national high school shoe customization competition. Each school receives four pairs of blank Vans shoes to be customized. The four themes are Art, Music, Action Sports and Local Flavor. This competition was created to empower students to express their creativity through art, design and to raise awareness for the country’s suffering arts programs.

Summer Creek High School is one of 3.000 schools participating in this year’s contest. The top 10 schools in each region will be available for a public vote starting April 24. The grand prize winner will receive $50,000 for their high school art program and a chance for their designs to be sold in Van’s retail stores and online at Vans.com. Summer Creek students Gabrielle Matthews, Savannah Le, Minbio Yoo and Neftaly Torres shoe designs are a step above the rest! Check out their shoe art below.
