Students express thanks to Humble ISD Trustees

Engelage-student art
Fourth grade students at Summerwood Elementary drew a portrait of each Humble ISD School Board Member. Under the direction of Art Teacher Lisa Jones, the students practiced portraiture, complementary colors, and observational drawing skills. Pictured, from left, are Joselyn Soto with Board President Robert Scarfo, Mary Kanu with Board Vice President Robert Sitton, Danielle Cormier with Board Secretary Keith Lapeze, Julia Travis with Board Parliamentarian Angela Conrad, Jada Stallworth with Board Member Heath Rushing, and Calista Tijmes with Board Member Charles Cunningham. Student Justin Impleman created a portrait of Board Member Brent Engelage, but could not attend the School Board Meeting.
Board Members were given commemorative books featuring photos of Trustees at different events, as well as notes and artwork submitted by students from Deerwood, North Belt, Shadow Forest and Summerwood elementary schools, and from Timberwood and Woodcreek middle schools.
Students in Atascocita High School's Audio Visual practicum course produced the Inspiring Moments video of students from kindergarten through high school giving their definitions of a School Board, what it does, and why they do it.
FFA members from across Humble ISD brought gifts of appreciation for each Board Member, and also talked about the upcoming Humble ISD Livestock Show and related activities.
