Super Staffers honored at January School Board Meeting

SuperStaffers Jan2015

Humble ISD’s Super Staffers of the Month were recognized at the regularly scheduled Board Meeting on January 13. Pictured above are Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo, RPE Teacher Angela Proske, AHS Teacher Kap McWhorter, CNS Warehouseman Adam Soliz, and Board President Robert Scarfo. Honored at the Board Meeting were the following Super Staffers:

Anglea Proske — River Pines Elementary Teacher
Those who nominated her said, "She listens, reads and observes students and coworkers carefully - focusing on the most important part and meeting the need, whether it is academic, behavioral, or emotional. It is a true honor to work with her and learn from her. She is truly selfless, kind, tenderhearted and humorous."

Kap McWhorter — Atascocita High School Social Action Teacher
Those who nominated him said, “Kap not only teaches students how to look beyond themselves to help others, he sets a great example by living what he teaches. By showing and teaching our students how to give back to the community, he's creating a generation of eagles who care about each other and that supports academics and every aspect of education.”

Adam Soliz — Child Nutrition Department Warehouseman
Those who nominated him said, “Adam always has a positive attitude and congenial nature. He is willing to assist anyone who needs a little extra help. He volunteers for tasks that are not in his job description and willing helps out anywhere he is needed. He is an outstanding team player and we are lucky to have him in the Child Nutrition Department.”

Each month, campuses and departments select an individual to be honored as a Super Staffer for their outstanding work in advancing student achievement. A drawing is held and three honorees receive additional recognition at the School Board Meeting, including a $200 gift card to Pappas Restaurants thanks to an award sponsor. The sponsor for the Super Staffer Awards this month is the Humble ISD Education Foundation.
