Community Members honored at December PTA Council Meeting

In an effort to continue promoting the TX PTA membership campaign "Back the Future", the Humble ISD Council of PTAs decided to recognize adult PTA and community members who "Back the Future" of our Humble ISD students through their extraordinary volunteerism and service with a "Back the Future Award".  
At the December 3, 2014 Humble ISD Council of PTAs meeting, community PTA member Herb Gordon was honored.  Mr. Gordon is a thirty year veteran volunteer for Humble ISD serving several schools, programs, and special projects throughout the district.  He served many years on the Humble Council as the Youth Health and Safety Coordinator. 
Also honored at the December Council meeting was the quilting group called "The Cut-Ups".  They are the group of women who spent 250 hours of their time, and donated hundreds of dollars in materials, to create the Traveling Quilt to help raise money for the Humble ISD Council of PTAs scholarship fund.  Their names are Lenna Hensley, Lori Rial, Debbie Lapham, Irma Meyr, Annie Jennings, Lottie Ledbetter, Christina Heimburger, Deborah Crow and Sue Brower.  Congratulations to to all of the "Back the Future" Award recipients!.
If you know of an outstanding adult volunteer who goes above and beyond to serve the children of your school or the Humble ISD community, please forward that person's name, a description of their volunteer activities, and their contact information to Laura Clarke, Humble ISD Council of PTAs President, at by January 12.  These individuals will be honored at our next Council meeting with a "Back the Future Award" on Jan. 21 @ 10 AM.  The Council will continue to honor deserving volunteers at each of its remaining meetings this year.
