Fifth and Eighth grade math STAAR test date has changed

STAAR Testing The state originally scheduled the test for Monday, March 30, but has pushed that date back to Monday, April 20.  “After visiting with superintendents, teachers, parent representatives and district testing coordinators, it is apparent that shifting the math testing date provides a bit more time to better prepare our students in grades 5 and 8,” Texas Commissioner of Education Michael Williams said.  State testing dates for other grade levels and subjects remain unchanged. TEA issued a news release explaining the change in date for the grade 5 and grade 8 math STAAR tests.
