Make a difference! Join the District Legislative Committee
Humble ISD invites all community members to attend the first District Legislative Committee meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 13, in the Atascocita High School auditorium.
The committee convenes at a critical time – prior to the start of the 84th Texas Legislative Session. The District Legislative Committee focuses on state issues and proposed legislation affecting Humble ISD. Humble ISD convenes the District Legislative Committee during school years in which the Legislature meets. The 84th Texas Legislative Session is scheduled for Jan. 13-June 1, 2015. The Committee will help plan, and take action, to best assure that any changes to existing state laws target improving public education for all the children we serve.
“The District Legislative Committee will work with our Board Legislative Committee (Heath Rushing, Chair, Angela Conrad, and Charles Cunningham) in preparing for what will be another critically important State Legislative Session for our children and public education!” Humble ISD Superintendent Dr. Guy Sconzo said.
“Our first meeting will feature our own State Representative Dan Huberty who will help us anticipate what all this legislative session will include!” Dr. Sconzo said. “The Committee will help plan, and take action, to best assure that any changes to existing state laws target improving public education for all the children we serve. With your involvement and help, we have made great strides in Austin, and this coming session cannot be an exception.”
