Five Kingwood Park High School students placed 3rd in the state-wide Humanities Texas President’s Vision Poster contest. They were given three weeks to select a U.S. President and create a digital poster that clearly conveys that President’s vision during his term(s) in office.

Lori Leo, KPHS History teacher said, “This contest was a great opportunity for my students to learn the importance of researching, analyzing primary sources and thinking critically about history,”

There were 152 poster submissions and three of those submissions were from Kingwood Park students, Chris Holmes, Patrick McCarthy, Ivanna Soto, Danielle Celaya-Alvarez and Paul Mead. Posters could be digital or interactive allowing students to take the information they have collected and their primary sources to display it all in one poster.

All three of their poster submissions received 3rd place in the High School poster category and also received a $100 prize from Humanities Texas.
