Atascocita High School honors 9/11 victims

Atascocita High School National Honor Society honored the victims of terrorist attacks on the thirteenth anniversary of 9/11. The ceremony was held on Thursday, September 11, 2014, with 2,978 miniature flags surrounding the flagpole on the green honoring the 2,978 US citizens who lost their lives.
Local police and firefighters were present, along with 50 senior parents representing the 50 states. Students, staff and district administration and Board members also attended the event. AHS ROTC raised the flag to half-staff, and NHS students spoke about the events of 9/11 and remembering the victims and fallen heroes. The AHS Band performed music throughout the ceremony.
