Summer Creek High School welcomes Nolan Correa as Principal
Humble ISD has named Nolan Correa as Summer Creek High School Principal. Mr. Correa comes to Summer Creek High School from Fort Sumner Municipal Schools in Fort Sumner, New Mexico, where he served as superintendent. His experience includes 27 years in education including as a high school principal in Waco and Austin. Additionally during his career, he was a science and special education teacher, assistant principal, district program coordinator and middle school principal.
Mr. Correa said he first became impressed with Humble ISD when, as a high school principal in Texas, his schools’ teams traveled to Turner Stadium for post‐district play. “We just loved the Humble area,” Correa said, adding that he is especially excited about being a part of the growth now occurring in the Summer Creek area. “I like to be involved in the community in which my school sits and this is an outstanding place to be.”
Mr. Correa earned his bachelor’s degree from the College of Santa Fe and his master’s degree from the University of New Mexico. He and his wife have four daughters who range in age from 11 to 28 and two grandchildren. His wife also is a school administrator and will be the new principal of Helen Major Elementary School in Spring ISD. Mr. Correa’s hobbies include running, golf, and playing disc golf with his family.
