RMS principal Donald Bodron inducted to the TASCO Hall of Honor
The Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) announced their TASCO Hall of Honor Class of 2016 in early November. The Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) have selected Riverwood Middle School principal Donald Bodron to be inducted into the TASCO Hall of Honor.
The Texas Association of Soccer Coaches (TASCO) Hall of Honor inducted their first class in 2010. Since 2010, TASCO has inducted 18 members to the Hall of Honor. TASCO was formed in 1983 to support the growth of soccer in the state of Texas and currently there are over 2,500 members.
The Hall of Honor was created to honor members who have made a significant contribution to TASCO, their service in other soccer organizations, contributions to high school soccer, total wins, playoff appearances, and other state or national recognition. The coaches are nominated current and/or former TASCO members.
Before becoming principal of Riverwood Middle School, Bodron served as the Head Coach for girls soccer at Kingwood High School. Bodron has coached both high school and club soccer for the last 23 years.
During his years of coaching Bodron has helped lead soccer teams from Region Championships all the way to State. Although Bodron no longer coaches high school soccer, he enjoys sharing his passion for soccer with his children. Two of his three daughters have grown up playing soccer and now his middle daughter is the Kingwood High School Varsity soccer team captain.
“I love to see kids develop a passion for playing soccer and developing the skills that will help them throughout their lifetime,” Bodron said. “Team work, determination, perseverance, problem solving, adversity, and a healthy lifestyle are all factors of great life lessons learned from athletics.”
The Hall of Honor induction will take place Friday, November 18, at 6:30 PM at Moody Gardens in Galveston as a part of the 2016 TASCO Fall Clinic and Expo being held November 17-19.
