Humble ISD is offering a new learning opportunity for community members called the Humble ISD Community Leadership Academy. Through this Academy, citizens are given a behind-the-scenes look within Humble ISD schools and administration, examining district processes and operations. Participants in this Academy will interact with Humble ISD students and staff, tour district facilities and receive in-depth knowledge on the inner-workings of Humble ISD.
The Academy will meet five times between December and April for half day sessions from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. Sessions will focus on areas of operations from the cafeteria to the classroom, from fine arts to finances. Additionally, participants will learn about school board member role and responsibilities, preparing students for success after high school graduation, state assessments and curriculum, technology in the classroom and student safety.
To participate in this program, submit an application by Monday, November 28th. Approximately 25 applicants will be selected and the first session will be in December. In selecting the participants, the primary criterion is to have representation from the many communities within Humble ISD.
