AHS Orchestra is happy to hosts international string phenomenon Barrage 8
Barrage 8 – A high-octane string group that features an international, multi-talented cast performing an eclectic mix of music, song and dance brings its show to the Atascocita High School Performing Arts Center at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 5.
Tickets for the show are $20 for premium seats (all ages) and $15 general seating for adults and $10 general seating for students. Tickets can be purchased by visiting Barrage 8’s website at www.barrage8.com/tours-tickets
This public performance is part of the Barrage Educational Outreach Program and provides a rare opportunity for string students and the general public to see and interact with Barrage 8 in a unique and intimate environment.
Since its creation in Calgary, Canada in 1996, Barrage has been featured many times at events worldwide having played for many presidents, prime ministers and princes. Barrage has also had their television productions aired on several international TV networks including the PBS network in the USA, the BBC in the UK and CBC in Canada and has performed live shows in New Zealand, Singapore, Guatemala, Taiwan, China, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Poland, Germany, Norway, Monaco, the USA and the UK.
Barrage 8 is the latest project from John Crozman, Dean Marshall and Tony Moore, the original creators of the hit show Barrage. Utilzing the same energy, panache and innovative stage performance that Barrage was known for, Barrage 8 features all the instruments in the modern string family. The "8" in the name represents a re-imagining of the string octet: 5 violins, viola, cello and double bass. This instrumentation drives a rich and powerful sonic palette that further explores the musical diversity in the Barrage 8 compositions and arrangements. Barrage 8 presents what the Barrage name has come to represent worldwide: "a memorable presentation of music, from many genres and cascading generations, delivered in a way not seen or heard before."
