Summer Creek High School choir students advance in first round of All-State Choir auditions

SCHS Choir Student Advance

Summer Creek High School choir students competed against several local school districts at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Texas All-State Choir auditions.

Out of 40 Summer Creek choir students 24 were selected to move forward in the All-State Choir auditions. Nine of those students were in the top 10 of their room. The selected students will be competing again at the end of October to be chosen for the Region 33 Mixed Choir and the opportunity to continue in the All-State process.

The All-State audition process serves to promote students’ dedication to their musical knowledge and skills. All-State is the highest honor a Texas music student can receive and the selection process begins with over 64,000 students from around the state. Students selected will have the opportunity to participate in a choir led by nationally recognized conductors during the annual state TMEA Convention.
