Four Kingwood Elementary Schools will compete during the annual 'Get in the Game' kickball tournament fundraiser
It’s time for this year’s annual “Get in the Game” festivities! The four elementary schools, Bear Branch, Elm Grove, Foster, and Woodland Hills, in the Kingwood Park High School feeder pattern are ready to participate for the third time in this fun-spirited community kickball tournament. Parents and community supporters are invited to join in on this FUN event by coming out to watch the teams compete!
In 2015, the principals from these schools agreed to compete in “Get in the Game” for four years to help support each other’s funding priorities. So far, both Woodland Hills and Elm Grove Elementary have received funding from the event, and this year, the Foster Elementary School will be the beneficiary. Foster Elementary recently celebrated its’ 45th birthday and funds received will help the school further its mission to provide academic resources for students and teachers to grow. “The monies raised from the Get in the Game fundraiser will help Foster to purchase resources like Chromebooks, Coding Technology, Maker Space Supplies for our students to use and provide training for teachers. We are continually working here at Foster to educate the whole child so they can be productive citizens and these items help us reach our goal,” said Diana Zelezinski, Foster Elementary School Principal.
WHAT: Every year, Bear Branch Elementary, Elm Grove Elementary, Foster Elementary, and Woodland Hills Elementary form a team to compete and raise money. Each year, the funds go to a different school. This time the funds will go directly to Foster Elementary. Foster Elementary choir students will perform during the half time show and students from Elm Grove Elementary will sing the National Anthem. Kingwood Park High School Student Council and Postal Annex Plus have teamed up to bring a large inflatable obstacle course for all children! An additional obstacle course will be provided by Camp Gladiator. In addition, Bear Branch and Woodland Hill students will be performing. Are you and your family ready to “Get in the Game”?
With inflatables, face painting, and concessions available…“Get in the Game” is a perfect Friday night family event. YOU can purchase your $3.00 admission ticket today and skip the line on game day! Pre-sale tickets will be sold at Postal Annex on Northpark Drive until Friday at noon. Humble ISD Superintendent, Dr. Elizabeth Fagen, will roll out the first kickball pitch.
