Humble ISD Science Olympiad Teams place in state competition

Creekwood Middle School, Kingwood Middle School, Riverwood Middle School, and Kingwood High School Science Olympiad teams placed in the Gulf Coast regional competition hosted by Lone Star College at Cy-Fair. The teams advanced to the state tournament at Texas A&M in April.  Each team had students earn medals at the state level.

CMS brought home third place medals for “We’ve Got Your Number” – Daniel Alexander (7th Grade) and Farhan Ahsan (7th Grade) and “Hovercraft” Daniel Alexander and James Turner (6th Grade). The CMS Science Olympiad coaches are Paul Tagliabue and Elizabeth Byrne.

 

Kingwood Middle School Science Olympiad Team

Kingwood Middle School received medals in Bottle Rockets and Rocks and Minerals. Kingwood Middle School place 13th overall in the state. The KMS Science Olympiad Coach is Laura Powell. 

 

Riverwood Middle School State Science Olympiad Team

RMS placed 7th overall in the state of Texas. The following students are individually ranked in the State of Texas for their event. The RMS Science Olympiad coach is Delaney Llewellyn. 

 

Nathaniel Liu and Josh Kahler 1st in the state for Scrambler. 

Sean Wilson and Neil Tian 2nd in the state for Optics.

Neha Shaw and Neil Tian 3rd in the state for Anatomy. 

Neha Shaw and Neil Tian 3rd in the state for Disease Detectives.

Caleb Sweet and Sean Wilson 4th in the state for Crime Busters. 

Nathaniel Liu and Neha Shaw 4th in the state for Microbe Mission.

Erin Eldridge and Daphne Han 4th in the state for Dynamic Planet.
