EGE excels in Regional Destination Imagination Competition




After an outstanding performance at the Destination Imagination – North Harris Regional Competition, the DI Dominators from Elm Grove Elementary are advancing to the Texas Destination Imagination state competition in Lubbock on April 8. Representing the DI Dominators team at state are Chloe Ballard, Aidan Hull, Pablo MacKay, Rachel Murphy, Zachary Niesporek, Alayna Studdert, and Joshua Wilding.


The Destination Imagination (DI) program is a hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the field of STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), fine arts and service learning.


The following schools participated in the Destination Imagination – North Harris Regional Competition on Feb. 25: Eagle Springs Elementary, Elm Grove Elementary, Greentree Elementary, Pine Forest Elementary, River Pines Elementary, Summerwood Elementary, Atascocita Middle, Kingwood Middle, and Woodcreek Middle.


Eagle Springs Elementary placed 2nd overall in the Show & Tech Challenge and 1st place in Instant Challenge. Elm Grove Elementary placed 2nd overall in the Top Secret Challenge and also received the Da Vinci Award for creativity.
