Dear Community Learning Center Staff,

I am proud to announce that Ms. Christie Speights has been named Principal of DAEP/PACE beginning  with the 2020-2021 school year. Congratulations to Tammy Alexander upon her retirement after 30 years of service in education.  

Ms. Speights brings to the position 20 years of experience in education. She currently is Principal at Horace Mann Junior School in Goose Creek Consolidated ISD.  Her experience also includes serving as Academic Dean/Associate Principal at Goose Creek Memorial High School, and as Math Academic Lead/Instructional Coach at Summer Creek High School in Humble ISD. Ms. Speights also taught math in Barbers Hill ISD, in Crowley ISD, and at Sterling High School in Baytown. 

In addition to teaching math, Ms. Speights has experience coaching. She coached basketball and track and was a professional basketball player with the FIBA International Basketball League in Portugal. 

Ms. Speights earned her bachelor's degree at Stephen F. Austin State University, her master’s degree in education at Sam Houston State University, and her master’s degree in business at the University of Phoenix.
