    Campus news…

    AHS will be offering the ASVAB to 10th, 11th and 12 graders on September 25, 2019. ASVAB is designed to help students explore their career options and make a plan for after high school. Participation is free and voluntary. Register now through September 6. Please see Mrs. McDonald if you have any questions.

    Attention juniors! It is time to register for the PSAT. The test will be given during school on October 16th and costs only $18. Register online by September 18th through the AHS testing website. See Mrs. McDonald in Upstairs Blue 2619 for more information.

    If you have a Dhall to serve, you will now line up across from Red House 2 by the Bookroom.

    Our first Blood Drive hosted by Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center and AHS HOSA is next Wednesday and Thursday, September 18 and 19. If you are interested in donating blood, please sign up with a HOSA member during all lunches through Tuesday, September 17th. Please see any HOSA member or Ms. Bobbitt or Ms. Hansen for additional questions. Be a Hero, Donate Blood!

    Attention juniors, sophomores and freshmen: Yearbook photos will be taken Sept. 24-27 during your English class in the Blue LGI. If you do not have an English class or you miss the day your class took a photo, you may go during lunch or your off period. It’s your chance to be in the yearbook.

    Attention Senior Boys. If you are interested in participating in the annual Senior Boys Dance at the Homecoming pep rally, sign-ups are Tuesday, September 17th in Mrs. Kennedy's office located in the dance room. You will need to tell Mrs. Kennedy your name, what campus organization/team you are a part of, your sponsor's name, as well as bring $10 cash for your t-shirt. There are only 40 spots and it's on a first come-first serve basis.

    Looking for a great place to grab some food before the football game this Friday? HOSA is hosting their first Spirit Night of the year at Big City Wings in Humble this Friday, September 13th from 4 - 7:00 pm! Just show a picture of the flyers you see hanging around school and a profit will go back to HOSA! See Ms. Bobbitt for additional information or a flyer!

    The AHS Black Student Union will have their first official meeting of the 2019-2020 School Year this Thursday, September 12, 2019, in Room T17-ISS at 3:00 pm. ALL students are more than welcome to come to fellowship and become a member. Please be on time!!! If you have any questions, please ask Mr. Tatum.

    Rainbow 6 Siege players! The AHS Esports team is hosting tryouts to play for our own R6 team on Saturday, September 14th. We will be hosting it on pc and it will be online playing in custom matches with randomly decided teams to determine the official AHS R6 PC team. Individuals will be judged based on aim, map knowledge, teamwork skills, patience, and their ability to make proper callouts at the right times. We are excited to recruit new members and best of luck to all!

    PS4 R6 Tryouts will be held on Sept. 13th from 6 pm to 8 pm
