Breakfast and Lunch - Breakfast will be eaten in the cafeteria in the morning, if your child plans on eating breakfast in the morning, please make sure they have enough time to eat before going to class at 7:55. If your child is buying breakfast/lunch or snacks/ice cream you can add money to their lunch card at School Cafe

Lunch - This school year our lunch time is from 11:15-11:45. We kindly ask that you do not plan on eating with your child until after the Labor Day holiday, as we would like them to have time to adjust to being back at school. Lunch with your child - We are so excited to announce that we will have a VIP section for parents to have lunch with their child at a special table, so one you check in at the front office, you wait for your child at the VIP table.

Wednesday's Afternoon Specials - On Wednesdays your child will go to afternoon specials from 2:10-3:05. It is always very important that you not only email your teacher, but also call the front office if there is a change in your child's pickup.

Water Bottle & Snack - Please send a water bottle or water thermos EVERYDAY with your child. We also strongly encourage each student to bring healthy snacks; no chips, candy, or items that will leave a mess on hands or materials. Please note that on your child's PE days, they must bring a water bottle as this is factored into your child's PE grade on report cards.

A look back at the Field Trip 2022

Fourth graders from Humble ISD's Deerwood Elementary traveled to Austin and San Antonio on an Education in Action Discover Texas Field Trip, Thursday, April 7, 2022, to experience what they are learning in Texas History. Students visited The Alamo and The Witte Museum.

During the charter bus ride to San Antonio, students discussed why Texans are so proud of their unique heritage and participated in activities and games in preparation for their day. In San Antonio they toured The Alamo, one of the most famous missions in the United States, and learned about the Battle of the Alamo's role in the Texas Revolution. At the Witte Museum students experienced how the people of the lower Pecos region lived long ago through a variety of hands-on activities including creating rock art to simulate the narratives the people created on rock shelter walls, processing the lechugilla plant for its fiber, and using atlatls to ''hunt'' deer.
