Welcome to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program 2017-18!
The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program at Humble High School would like to extend our deepest sympathies with all of those in our beloved community who have suffered losses due to the horrific storm. The Humble High School IB Program is dedicated to helping the community to rebuild and provide necessities to those in need.
The IB Diploma Program at Humble High School would like to welcome any students from Kingwood High School and Summer Creek High School who are beginning the 11th grade this year. The IB Diploma Program is a highly respected, highly credible, complete educational progam that prepared students for success beyond the classroom and is recognized by the world's leading colleges and universities. The IB courses offer a college-level curriculum with international-mindedness at the high school level. The IB Diploma Program is a two-year program that starts in the 11th grade, and IB exams are taken at the end of the senior year.

Unfortunately, because of the two-year course requirements, Seniors would only be eligible to take IB History, IB Environmental Systems and Societies, and IB Visual Arts. They would not be able to do the Full Diploma Program.
All Humble ISD 11th grade students interested in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program will need to complete a school transfer application as well as the IB application.

What is the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program?
The International Baccalaureate Program is a globally-recognized educational program that teaches from an international perspective with a college-level curriculum. The IB Diploma Program starts in the 11th grade and lasts for two years up until graduation. Full Diploma students are required to take classes from six different subject areas with examinations at the end of the two-year period.
Who are ideal candidates for IB?
The IB Diploma Program is ideal for students who are looking to attend an elite university in the United States or overseas. Students who desire to learn and who seek the best education would be ideal IB candidates. The IB Diploma Program is also ideal for students looking for international careers.

The Humble High School International Baccalaureate Diploma Program is an academically acclaimed program that is excellent at preparing students for the rigors of college course work. Some consider it the best in the world. The IBDP curriculum is rigorous, requiring that students complete a two-year program that consists of the study of literature, language, individuals and societies, experimental sciences, mathematics, epistemology and the arts. Students are also expected to complete service projects as well as a 4,000 word college-level research thesis.

Research has shown that IB Diploma students; have a 22% higher acceptance rate into college, up to a 13% higher acceptance rate into some Ivy League institutions, are more likely to attend college, earn higher GPAs while attending college, and have a higher college graduation rate.
The IBDP is proudly offered at Humble High School, and all 8th, 9th and 10th grade students (in-district and out-of-district) are invited to apply. Students who are invited to participate will benefit from a sophisticated and challenging academic experience as well as opportunities to earn college credit and scholarships.
