• WMS Library and Media Center

  • Media Center Hours and Procedures:

    • The media center is open from 8:00-4:00 pm every day except for late arrival days in which it is open from 9:45-4:00 pm. 
    • Any student not visiting with a class during the day MUST have a hall pass from a teacher or they will not be allowed in the Media Center.  
    • Students are allowed to check out 3 books at a time and may keep them for 3 weeks. 
    • If you lose or damage your book you will need to pay for the book using our online payment system.

     

    Important Information about the Media Center:

    The virtual libary is available 24 hours a day!!  Two resources for students to use are listed below:

    1. Destiny Discover
      Search for print books, ebooks, and audiobooks in the AHS Library Catalog by using Destiny Discover.
    2. SORA: Free ebooks and audiobooks
      SORA empowers students to discover and enjoy ebooks and audiobooks from their school, for both leisure and class-assigned reading.

    Library Sponsored Clubs:

    Battle of the Books Student Book Club
    Our teams meet weekly on most Wednesdays during lunch and advisory period.  Battle of the Books is a voluntary reading program for students in Humble ISD grades 4-8.  
    The purpose is to encourage students to read good booksand have fun while competing with peers.

    Hack Club
    Hack club is for beginners. If you’re new to coding, Hack Club is for you! Coding is a superpower!  You will learn how to make apps, websites, games, and anything you can dream up.  We meet every other Monday in the Library from 4:00-4:45 pm. We’ll have resources up to help you learn how to code and create whatever you want. Make friends & be creative!
