Hello! This is my thirteenth year at Atascocita Middle School and my eighteenth year teaching for Humble ISD. I started my teaching career in January of 1998 at Klentzman Intermediate School in Alief ISD where I taught bilingual math and science for two and a half years.
I then went back to school and earned a degree in Graphic Design and worked in that industry for about three years before moving to the Humble area with my family. I have a son that is in the 9th grade (yikes!) and we are both HUGE baseball fans - go Astros! I still do a little bit of freelance graphic design work, especially during the summer, and I often get to create t-shirt designs and graphics.
I returned to teaching when we moved to Humble in 2003 and have worked in Humble ISD since then. I started off teaching 4th and 5th grade (all subjects!) at Oak Forest Elementary before coming to AMS to teach art, math strategies, and Spanish Intro. My family is from Spain and I love getting to share my knowledge of the language with my students. I love that I have combined art and teaching, and that I also get to add Spanish to the mix!
