NTHS Presents HPOU with Books and Bears
On Thursday, May 4th, four Kingwood High School students had the opportunity to donate all the books and bears they raised for the Houston Police Officers Union (HPOU) which represents over 53,000 HPD officers across the city of Houston. The NTHS was contacted by the Vice President of HPOU because he was interested in what they were doing, and scheduled a meeting to talk about NTHS/books and bears. HPOU donated $250 to the NTHS fundraiser as a result and it was all spent on more books and bears. The students from KHS are Gerardo Saenz, Sarah Vogel, Kaylee Sheppard, and Michael Mosby.
Also on May 4th, Gerardo Saenz had the opportunity to speak at the HPOU executive board meeting representing KHS, NTHS, and Humble ISD with the other students present. Later Sarah Vogel and GeradoI had the opportunity to speak in front of over 150 police officers and detectives. It was an amazing opportunity to show how Humble ISD students can be very giving.
